We are a proud member in good standing with the Friesian Horse Association of North America (FHANA). FHANA is the official approved FPS registry for America. FHANA offers information on membership, as well as photos, directory of breeders and history. They offer a very informative website at www.fhana.com  

FHANA is the North American affiliate of Het Friesch Paarden-Stamboek (The Friesian Horse Studbook), also known as the FPS. This registry was founded in 1879 in the Netherlands has more than 40,000 registered horses and 12,000 members living on every inhabited continent. This Dutch organization registers Friesian horses, manages studbook administration, and organizes national inspection events for mares and stallions.

The (Dutch) registry, Friesch Paarden-Stamboek (FPS) is much more highly regulated than any other Friesian horse registries. Most FPS Friesian horses are graded at least twice in their lives and only a small number of stallions are approved for breeding.

In order to be approved for breeding, stallions must pass exacting examinations of pedigree, conformation, quality of gaits and movement, performance under saddle, performance as driving horses, and they must also demonstrate good temperament and trainability. Only a tiny percentage of FPS-registered stallions are deemed to have the qualities needed to improve the breed for future generations. This strict stallion selection by the Dutch Studbook is what makes Friesian horses continuously better and better, without losing the magical quality that attracts us to the breed.

We are also a member of International Friesian Horse Show Association (IFHSA) which regulates all rated shows for the Friesian breed. IFSHA is the official approved organization for Friesian Show Horses as recognized by the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).  USEF is in charge of all lifetime show points for all horses competing in "A" rated shows nationwide.
